What a sad little band name…I know, I’ll Put A Bird On It! Had you heard this band before? I hadn’t, but now there’s a band with a bird name…it’s flying it’s free…and I love it!
I’m gonna put a bird right into this song, “biiiirds with fangs”…Put A Bird On It! …it’s so pretty…. In Melbourne music, birds are everywhere, and now YOU can whistle along too!
Put A Bird On It!

Before they let their head banging pigeons and renegade seagulls fly, The Gallant Trees will be playing select tracks from their debut avian rock album ‘Music for Frustrated Ornithologists’! Midsparrow Put A Bird On It! and taught his Migration flock to rock. The full band will join for the first time since June! They come with new tunes from the imminent Supurbia release, as well as old favourites from the Migrations catalogue.
Flightless Kiwi band Jukai Forest are stuck within the borders of Melbourne, treating locals to their particular flavour of punk tinged rock. Their debut EP South Meringue is set to send spirits soaring, back to the shoe gazing indi-rock of the 90s!

The sound of Wire Bird is nested in the lush harmonies of four Melbourne blokes whose electro rock is rising up the pecking order, up to the heavens and in top 100 of the alternative iTunes releases!

The Banjo Paterson Show
The Banjo Paterson Show is an exciting and captivating narrative concert that melds Paterson’s lyrical poetry with diverse and original musical compositions by a fine selection of Aussie singer-songwriters whilst tracing the life of Andrew Barton Paterson.
The stage is set with iconic images projected onto sheets, hung up as if on a clothesline. This is a nod to Australiana, and serves as a perfect backdrop from which to move Paterson’s scribblings from bush folklore to contemporary ‘bushranger chic’.
Come and join house band ‘The Fujiyama Mamas’, their special guests and orator extraordinaire Dobe Newton (The Bushwhackers) for this unique event as they re-discover the social commentary behind Paterson’s works, with themes such as love, death, war, art and of course, the bush. The Banjo Paterson Show took place at a number of venues across Victoria in 2013
The show’s 2011 debut left audiences refreshed by Paterson the writer as opposed to the stereotypical ‘Waltzing Matilda’ legend. Damian Howard and the Ploughboys (the 2011 house band) have since released their version of Paterson’s When Dacey Rode The Mule, and have created a film clip to accompany its single release.
Another successful example of the contemporizing of Paterson’s lyrics is the 2012 release of raspy rock chick Suzie Stapleton’s EP Obladi Diablo, featuring Song of The Artesian Water.
Audiences are invited to join in throughout the show. They will be exposed to many surprises contrary to the ‘Australiana’ image: Paterson could be subtle, rich and compelling, while his descriptions of country are detailed, considered, romantic and powerful.
This is a show for lovers of words and music alike!
